The National Olympic Committee of Kenya (NOCK) Secretary General, Francis Paul, took his son among the Kenyan party to Rio and booked him a five star hotel in the just concluded Olympics games as Kenyan athletes shared rooms in a small hotel in a slum in Brazil’s capital city with others lacking accommodation and food.
Paul is one of the NOCK officials who contributed to the poor performance of the Kenyan team at Rio because of his greed.
He embezzled millions of shillings given out by the Government to cater for the players at the Olympics.
Besides taking his son to Rio using taxpayers’ money and booking him a 5 star hotel where international celebrities sleep when they go for holiday in Brazil, he colluded with other NOCK officials and stole “Team Kenya” uniforms that were donated by Nike.
DCI officers raided NOCK offices at the 2000 Plaza, Mombasa Road, where they recovered hundreds of cartons containing Team Kenya uniforms that were supposed to be used in the just concluded Olympics games.
Paul was arrested on Friday after landing from Rio and locked up at Muthaiga Police station awaiting trial.
Here’s the full list of shame of all those who bungled Kenya’s Olympics Dreams in Rio.
